Lately, I have started using cauliflower as a substitute for bread. For example, when we made pizza for dinner, I used wheat pitas for everyone but me. I threw some frozen cauliflower into a pot to steam while I made everyone else’s.
When the cauliflower was soft I tossed in some butter and a tablespoon of Traci’s Seasoning, chopped it up while stirring and then put it onto a plate for the base of the pizza.
For those who are curious about why I am not eating bread (and I know a handful of you are because you are on your own healing journey), I will tell you this: bread has been causing my digestive track problems. At least I think it is the bread. So I have been eliminating it from my diet. Since my little ones came along I stopped sprouting. I tried making sour dough but I keep killing my poor yeast start????♀️! I do think the wheat is taking its toll. Not a happy system!
Skipping bread is a lot easier when there is a delicious alternative. Cauliflower works great and is easy to keep in the freezer.
