Perfect for what, you ask? Why in tar-nation would I be telling you to use THESE ingredients? During the mentoring program a few weeks back didn’t we just clean these OUT of our pantry?
Yes, we did! And I hope you saved them!
Why? Because we aren’t going to eat them- we’re going to play with them! Using Grandma Charlie’s SUPER FUN play-dough recipe! It has a nice consistency. You can make any color you like using food coloring/food dye. It is fabulous to play with while still warm! (Though do be careful to let it cool some before giving to little kids!)
Have fun using up your old ingredients!
Grandma Charlie’s SUPER FUN Play-dough Recipe
In a large non-stick frying pan combine:
2 cups refined white flour
1 cup table salt
4 tsp. cream of tarter
Add 2 cups of colored water and 4 tablespoons vegetable oil.
While children love to play with the warm play-dough, make sure you knead it enough before giving it to them. It should be warm to the touch.
Use plastic knives for cutting, cookie cutters, rolling pins, and baking trays for lots of fun pretending.
Store in an airtight container. Keeps for several months depending on use.
Have fun!!!
