Scrumptiously Healthy Peach Cobbler!

Full of flavor, full of health!

OK- let us not exaggerate! Yes- this cobbler is “to die for yummy” but as for health, let’s just say it isn’t like you’re eating raw veggies or drinking a shot of wheat grass.

Don’t get me wrong altogether, though- Preparing your cobbler using this recipe will ensure you don’t fall too far off the health wagon and it is a lot easier to get back on track from here! (I don’t know what I am talking about- this really is the healthiest (and yummiest) cobbler I’ve ever eaten!)

Made with fresh, wholesome ingredients, organic sugars, and flax seeds, these flavors are sure to delight the most discerning taste buds!

Readers of Traci’s Transformational Health Principles book (free download at www.BestFoodist.com ) will recognize right away that this is not a pure Traci recipe- no… this is one of my “better than” recipes that I use for my family who still often prefer the Standard American Diet and this is “better than” what they would have been eating. It is a terrific transitioning recipe!

Generally, a S.A.D. child or even husband will eye it suspiciously, hesitating to take that first bite- then when they do they exclaim, “This can’t be healthy! Health food is gross!” After the initial shock wears off they begin to warm up to the idea that some foods can actually taste good AND are healthy and nutritious!

For those unfamiliar with Traci’s Health Principles let me quickly recap:

In her book Traci teaches us to consume fruit prudently; meaning raw, fresh, and by itself on an empty stomach.

Consuming fruit with starches and especially protein, it has a tendency to ferment. The human body optimizes the nutrition fruit offers when it is consumed prudently. Eating fresh, raw fruit on an empty stomach also helps the body to digest the fruit most favorably. I find that when I am consciously eating fresh, ripe, raw fruit for breakfast on an empty stomach, I have more energy and clarity of mind.

Special occasions are times we may choose to deviate from that high standard which Traci so powerfully teaches us in her book; perhaps for special occasions such as we have today.  Nettie turned 7 today and she requested a peach cobbler for breakfast.  How could a mother refuse such a sweetheart!?

At times like these it is a life saver to have a recipe which uses wonderfully healthy ingredients. Have fun celebrating and feeding your loved ones the best available!
To family and a life worth living,

Linda
